What we collect
QBO Power Tools collects the minimum data necessary to operate:
- Extension settings — Your preferences (enabled features, custom shortcuts) are stored locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API.
- License information — If you purchase Pro, we store your email address and license status to verify your subscription.
- Anonymous usage analytics — We collect anonymous event data (feature usage counts, error rates) to improve the product. No personally identifiable information is included. You can opt out in extension settings.
What we don't collect
- We do not send your QuickBooks data to any server.
- We do not collect your financial information, transaction details, or customer data.
- We do not track your browsing activity outside of QBO.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
How the extension works
QBO Power Tools runs entirely in your browser as a Chrome extension. It adds a UI overlay (command palette, keyboard shortcuts, batch tools) on top of QuickBooks Online pages. The extension reads page elements locally to provide its features (e.g. navigating between pages, categorizing transactions). This happens entirely in your browser — nothing leaves your machine. The extension does not make API calls to QuickBooks or Intuit servers on your behalf.
Data storage
- Browser storage — Settings and preferences are stored in Chrome's sync and local storage APIs.
- Our servers — We may store contact details for early access, plus billing and license verification data once paid plans launch.
Third-party services
Your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support. If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data is automatically removed by Chrome.
